I'm fine! In face, I'm better than fine. I'm absolutely thrilled...
- that our wedding is 67 days away.
- that I get to marry my best friend
- that our relationship is so completely amazing and that I could not ask for anything more
- that my mom is coming up next week to help me with wedding stuff
- I get to go on our honeymoon right after the wedding
- I get to move right after our honeymoon and start a new life with a new job and new friends
Ultimately, I realized that I just didn't care about blogging about wedding stuff. I wasn't the one who wanted the wedding to begin with (that would be my whole FAMILY), so blogging about it was just exacerbating the problem when I thought it would be the solution. I've taken that extra time and spend 10x the time with Mr. KM, my wonderful and amazing friends, and goofing off with my amazing coworkers. In May, I went to our new hometown when the time comes in August and fell in love with it (minus it not having a real grocery store in the city proper). We waited to find a place to live til after we came home after sticking to our guns about a lease we felt was sketchy and our new place is so cute (though tiny and expensive). As for blogging, I didn't need people oohing and aaahhing about stuff that I didn't care about. I have a great florist, a great DoC, a great caterer, great invitations and an even greater ceremony that is more important than any of that. 6 months and 3 days after we got engaged, we'll get married. That was the perfect amount of time, BTW. I got my first choice EVERYTHING by sheer luck and a little maneuvering. The end result, regardless of how long your engagement is, will be the same. You'll be married, and THAT is the most important thing. Not how many comments you get on your blog post or what your shoes look like.
However, my heart is with all the AMAZING girls I met through posting on the boards. I formed close "friendships" with several of them, left several others wondering where I went, and for that I feel bad. I love you all dearly! You got me through the rough of waiting to be officially engaged, the initial wedding planning stages and for that I am forever thankful. You girls stepped up when I was all alone in wedding world and it means the WORLD to me to know that so many of you are smattered across the US. Makes the thought of making friends in a new city a little less daunting when I've only lived in 2.
What's next for the KMs?
Here is what the next couple of months look like for me:
- June 18th->28th = family vacation
- July 4-> 10th = Mr. KM out of town
- August 6th= whoever decides to buy my car can come pick it up
- August 7th = we get married
- August 8th= we leave for our unexpected honeymoon
- August 15th= we get home
- August 17th or 18th= we move 750 miles north
- August 24th= Mr. KM starts his Ivy League orientation
Yep, we're getting married, going on our overseas honeymoon and moving all within literally 10/11 days. It's going to awesome!
Our unexpected honeymoon is.... to here:
I love y'all so much! Feel free to PM me, or email me, or whatever! I'd love to hear from you, hear the gossip, the ups and downs of how planning is going, whatever.
That last sentence should read "Je peux..." I think... gah french
