It's owned by the city government, operated and leased by the Lexington Art League. One of my good friends was an intern there, I went to several art shows throughout undergrad/ photography classes there and it's a GORGEOUS space (obviously). So I emailed their event coordinator and she said that while they normally didn't host wedding receptions, we could host a "private art event" with a donation of $2500 dollars. Not bad at all, especially since most of it was tax deductible for my dad. Mr. KM and I had a random day off, so we went while the gallery inside was open and...oh dear. I don't have pictures of the gallery exhibit going on, but I can tell you that some pieces included things like lockets/ human hair, bone/nails, and the kicker was upstairs, where there were blow spewing demons drawn on the walls. I had forgotten that they like... alternative... shows and since we couldn't control what show was up, it was a no go. Plus it would have been a logistical nightmare to set up tables in so many rooms (it was originally a house).
Next up was The Thoroughbred Center! Very Kentucky- they used to have horse sales there, very traditional. We were actually going to visit it and another choice one day but we got snowed out. Know what's not fun? Trying to visualize a summer wedding in the snow. But the room was not what I was looking for, so sadly we moved on. My wedding planning buddy is having her reception here, though! Here are pictures just for fun:

Those were the two "oh I like these, but I won't be devastated if they don't work out venues. I liked them alot, but... they just weren't working for me. Up next, my hope rises, then gets crushed.
