We got engaged last night!

It happened! Last night! And oh my goodness, I am so, so excited! He came to pick me up to go to my belated Christmas present dinner. This is what I looked like before he came over and I was puttering around my apartment:

My kitchen was a total disaster, sorry. I hadn't gotten around to throwing out the cardboard. Yes, I love Jello Pudding. Also, I took this with the Photo Booth on my Mac so it's not the best quality ever. My dress might be the most awesome thing ever, though. So in love with the detail on top and it was definintely a last minute Marshall's find.

We were going to the Holly Hill Inn. We had heard nothing but amazing things about this place and I was really, really looking forward to going. They have a 5 course tasting menu that is not only a ton of food, but all of it is grown here in Kentucky! It's all local, and it's all amazing.

(Wish I could have taken a better picture than the ones I found, but it was pitch black outside!)

When he came in, I was looking up directions, so he knelt next to my bed (where I was sitting) to help me figure out the best way to get there. Then he got all serious. I hadn't noticed the serious part yet, so I just kept blabbing on and on about... something completely irrelevant, til I asked "Are you ready to go?" and he just looked at me. Oh. OH! OH OH OH! I finally picked up on what may be happening. Of course, my reaction was "Now?!" because I'm composed like that.

So he says, "I'd really like to have dinner... with my fiancee". He had been sitting on the floor next to me, since I was on the corner of the bed but he moved around to in front of me (on one knee) and fumbled in his pocket, and then pulled out a little black box. And then couldn't figure out where the hinge was. Finally!

So then he asked, "KMSull, will you marry me?" Simple, to the point, sweet, and so totally and completely us. I had wanted an "at home" proposal more than anything- I'm a loud person who is actually pretty low key.

I said YES! Or of course. Or some kind of affirmation that I would, indeed, marry him.

And now we're ENGAGED! Please excuse the terrible lighting in my apartment. Also, I cried alot because that's what I do. I'm a notorious crier in pretty much every aspect of my life- friends, school, work, home. But seriously, all the nervousness, all the fear I had about our relationship instantly turning into something else... was completely unfounded. And I get to marry the most wonderful, amazing, and honest person I know. I cannot even tell you how excited that makes me...I would have said yes to a cracker jack ring. I told him I didn't need a ring at all, but he wanted to. And I love it, but I love him so much more than I could ever imagine was possible.
